A Senior Project is something every senior wants to do at first. It sounds easy when teachers talk about it, but once you actually start, you realize it takes way more time, effort, and planning than you expect. Everyone had to come up with an idea that showed what they learned in high school. Austin Smith had a pretty cool project idea. He said, “Who’s your biggest inspiration, My biggest inspiration is my brother because he’s a hard worker. What is the biggest challenge you have faced so far? Probably turning in things on time. How did you manage your time while doing your senior project so far? Take one day at a time.” Austin’s project really showed how passionate he is and how much work he put in. You could tell he cared about making something people would actually like for his project. James Carroway went on a special project for his family. “ Who was your inspiration for your senior project? What was the biggest challenge you faced so far? The biggest challenge was definitely picking the topic I wanted to do, and definitely turning stuff in on time. What’s a, or how do you manage your time while doing your senior projects? Just take it one step at a time and just stay on top of it.” He picked a topic that he and his dad cared about very much. James talked a lot about how tough it was to keep up with deadlines. It taught him a lot about staying organized and keeping calm even when things didn’t go as planned. He said the whole process helped him figure out what he actually enjoys doing, which made his project more personal. Corban Stoddard worked on something that could help other people. “ What was your biggest inspiration during your senior project? I actually love fly fishing, and something I want to do my whole life, especially when I’m retired. How do you manage your time while you’re doing your senior project? To be honest, I don’t manage my time. I just kind of just, like, do whatever, and then, yeah, so. What is the biggest challenge you face so far while doing your senior projects? Choosing what I’m gonna do took me a while to think about what I actually wanted to ride my whole senior project on.” His project showed how the Senior Project isn’t just about finishing schoolwork, but it can actually make a difference if you put your heart into it. By the time I interviewed them, finishing the presentation was a while away; you could tell how proud people were of with. We all started stressed and unsure, but in the end, everyone had something to show off. The Senior Project turned out to be more than just a big grade; it was proof that we could stick with something hard and finish strong. It definitely wasn’t easy, but it’s one of those things we’ll actually remember from high school.

I’m actually really excited to do a senior project in a few years and use the skills I’ve learned in high school so far. Not sure what I would do, but I’ll figure it out!!

It is interesting to know now that the senior projects are much more difficult than they may seem.

I like this article because it shows that staying on task and taking things slowly, pays off.
