Have you ever thought of the impacts that Student Council makes on Rocky Mountain High school. Student Council does more than students see in their day-to-day life. They organize school events, try to get the most out of school spirit, and so much more, without being recognized for all their hard work.  Not only that, but they are the reason that the students are able to feel represented at school. Their commitments and because of their efforts, students can enjoy a better connected, spirited, supportive school environment.

Claire Cullison a member of student council, and a sophomore had many great things to say about Student Council. Cullison commented on the fact that they can express themselves with different communities, and how easily they are allowed to express themselves in student council. She also stated, “It gets more people involved in school spirit, and we get more people to come support the school in sports and other things.” Cullison’s experience in student council show how student council creates an environment that all students want to be included in.

Student council has many student representatives, and yet another sophomore, Hudson Edwards, had a lot to add onto how student council creates such a great impact on the school. Edwards noted, “We are also students, and we are able to give the perspective so that we can create a better environment, and see what people want.” He also added onto the point of how spirited they make the school with decorations, and how they can listen and give feedback to students, teachers, and administrators.

Tenley Trubow, a junior student here at Rocky expressed her great appreciation to student council for of all the hard work that they do to create a good environment for those around. Trubow expressed how student council does a great job on keeping everybody involved in the school. She also added how student council makes it so that everyone feels welcome and how everyone’s able to create a conversation out of the blue with anyone. Trubow stated, “Student Council does a good job, and we just all need to realize, they do really try really hard, to put themselves out there, and create a well-rounded school spirit.”

Continuing from that Dayton Robinson a junior, stated how great of a job that Student Council is doing, and the pressure that is put on them, from hosting the assemblies and events, to other things like decorating the school. He also explained, “Student council keeps the school with a fun environment and keeps the hallways and students active and alive.” Robinsons words highlighted the environment that Student Council contributes to creating a lively, engaging atmosphere that students feel throughout the school.

Clearly, Student Council creates an impact of Rocky Mountain through all their efforts to create a welcoming environment that students want to be in. Their efforts to create a school spirit everywhere a student may be, creating a perspective that students are able to embrace themselves at school. Not only that, but with a community supports. Including the fact that, they are our voices to administrators and teachers and choose to advocate for the student body.
