Rocky Mountain High School is preparing for its annual Mental Health Awareness Week in about a month, scheduled for March 16–20, 2026. The event will feature guest speakers, classroom activities, informational booths, and opportunities for students to learn about stress management, emotional well‑being, and healthy habits.
Pretty much, the goal of the week is to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable discussing mental health. Planning began in January, and staff members have been coordinating with local organizations to bring in resources and speakers for the five‑day event.
Throughout the week, students will have access to workshops on coping strategies, mindfulness, healthy relationships, and academic stress. Teachers will incorporate short lessons into their classes, and the library will feature displays with books and resources related to mental health. Former senior, Marcus White said, “Students carry so much pressure, especially in the spring. Even taking ten minutes in class to talk about stress or emotional health can help them feel seen. Mental Health Awareness Week gives a way to remind students that their well‑being matters just as much as their grades. I wish I had something like that while I was in high school.”
Student leadership groups, including ASB and several clubs, are preparing posters, announcements, and lunchtime activities to encourage participation. Many students may appreciate having a week dedicated to well‑being, especially during the busy spring semester. Freshman, We
Local mental health organizations will host booths during lunch on March 18 and 19, offering information about counseling services, crisis resources, and ways to seek help. Staff members hope these connections will make it easier for students to reach out if they need support. “Wellness is not something students should have to figure out by themselves,” said Reese. “Bringing community partners into the building helps students see that there are many people ready to help them, not just during this week but all year long.”
As March 16 approaches, Rocky Mountain High School is working to create a positive and welcoming atmosphere. Mental Health Awareness Week aims to remind students that they are not alone, that help is available, and that taking care of their emotional well‑being is just as important as academic success.
Rocky wants every student to hear this clearly: you matter, you are seen, and support is always within reach.

I think that this is a really good idea to have in schools. Especially during the Spring Semester. If I needed to provide one small critique, I might suggest changing “pretty much” in the second paragraph. It might change the mood of the paragraph if something different is used, or the phrase is removed altogether. Other than that small thing, I really like this article. It is discussing something that is extremely important in school.

im very distraught that a school cares about mental health from the students attending. I do like how they are trying to care and let people know that there are people you can talk to that will listen and will support what you have to say
