Netflix’s latest young adult show, Finding Her Edge, has captivated global audiences and achieved a rare 100% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes. Following the rise of views, Netflix confirmed on February 3, 2026, that the show has been officially renewed for a second season.
Since its release on January 22, 2026, the series, adapted from Jennifer Iacopelli’s novel, earned its place in Netflix’s Top 10. It peaked at #3 worldwide, reaching the top charts in 81 countries with over 12 million views within its first few weeks.
Though critics have praised the show with its fun and exciting storyline, the audience seems to be divided. The show currently holds a 62% Popcornmeter score, with many viewers finding the love triangle between Adriana (Madelyn Keys), Brayden (Cale Ambrozic), and Freddie (Olly Atkins) to be somewhat polarizing.
The story revolves around a family of professional ice skaters who are heading towards bankruptcy and as a result, losing their ice rink they have run their whole lives. The family must perform their best to make it to the final leg of the competition, thus resulting in cash prizes and fame. In the midst of competing and training, main character, Adriana Russo, forms an unexpected relationship with both her first love and her new skating partner.
The show, though praised by critics, seemed to be unoriginal and at times as the acting felt forced. It started off fairly slow for the first few episodes and only started to ramp up in the last two. The season one finale left its audience on a cliffhanger, but it might not have been big enough to have its audience return for a second season.
Producer Jeff Norton has expressed his excitement about diving deeper into the “familial and romantic love triangles” that give the series its draw and charm. Iacopelli has also teased that the show’s success has influenced her own writing, revealing she is now outlining a second book to expand on the world created by the series.
Fans are excited to see what Iacopelli has in store for them next and what new direction both the show and the book will take. So far, there is no official release date for either a second season or book but fans predict an early 2027 release.
