Rocky Mountain Highschool is hosting its annual Paint Wars activity. This activity will take place on May 6 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Rocky’s field near the parking lot. Please invite friends! Students from 8th to 12th grade are welcome to participate. There is a slight entrance fee of $5 for a white t shirt if you want to attend. Students can expect to get very messy, and it is recommended to bring a towel or change of clothes as well as a trash bag to put dirty clothes in. Eve Hough, a senior who attended Paint Wars last year, describes the event as enjoyable, chaotic, and a highly recommended activity to join. “I would recommend it because it’s so fun to be messy!”
Alexis Cunningham, a junior helping organize the event, states, “Paint will be thrown everywhere. They will take paint from the people with gallons of paint and throw it on their friends. It’s very chaotic.”
Hough agrees, “There were a ton of paint bottles. When admin said go, we ran to a paint bottle, poured some on our hands and tried to hit each other.” Hough enjoyed how effortless it was to have fun and release your inner kid. At the end of Paint Wars, participants get to run through sprinklers to wash off excess paint. Although this is an entertaining activity, Cunningham also says to be aware that the paint, even though it is washable, can still be difficult to wash out of hair and clothes.
Even though paint will be thrown everywhere, Cunningham and Hough still agree that it’s a worthwhile event to try out to get out of your comfort zone and release your inner kid. Cunningham swears, “It is super fun and you’ll have the best time ever.”
