Buff Puff is one of the best traditions for both junior and senior boys because it gives them a chance to compete in a sport that isn’t their own. It pushes them out of their comfort zone and lets them try something fun, energetic, and totally different. Events like this have become staples in many American high schools because they bring people together. They are a great way to experience something new, build confidence, and create strong connections, whether that’s bonding with close friends or meeting new ones along the way.
To begin, a few words from the Buff Puff Committee. They’ve spent weeks preparing to make this event fun and enjoyable for everyone, and they’re excited to be part of something they genuinely love doing. Bella Cardoza explained how she wanted to join the committee because she is a volleyball player and she wanted to share her love for the game with others.
Cardoza said, “I wanted to show the boys that volleyball is a true sport, and it really is difficult.” She believed that this event was going to be a success and she was absolutely right. It got the boys who participated excited to be a part of something different, but cash prize had also gotten them even more ecstatic to have the opportunity to win extra money. This is a great way to get our students involved not only in sports but in school spirit.
Edith Weaver had a different perspective on this committee. It’s not that she played volleyball, but she wanted to join the committee because Weaver wanted to try out new experiences and learn something out of her comfort zone.
Weaver also explained, “I wanted to join Buff Puff because it gives the guys an opportunity to work together and play a sport that they don’t normally play.” She also talked about how she loves to volunteer and this is one of the committees that really stood out to her.
Buff Puff team “DBR” had a lot to say about this event. This team consists of Jackson Cardoza, Cooper Lesterberg, Wyatt Bowman, Dayton Robinson, Kade Wooten, Deandre Mikell, Ryker Clyde, David Foremaster, and Marques Taylor. These individuals not only had a lot to say about themselves but also about how the event would go.
The team said they expected to win the game with no competition, showing their undivided confidence. This is a bonding activity for friends to be able to get together and have fun, making memories that they won’t forget.
Buff Puff continues to stand out as more than just a friendly competition. It’s a celebration of school spirit, teamwork, and stepping into something new. Whether it is committee members sharing their passion for volleyball or students forming teams that blend confidence with camaraderie, the event brings out the best in everyone involved. It gives boys the chance to challenge themselves in a sport they may have never tried, while also strengthening friendships and creating memories that last for years to come.

This is cool. It’s neat to hear that one of the main reasons for starting the Buff Puff Committee was to get people out of their comfort zone of playing a sport they aren’t used to.

Buff puff seems like a fun way that the school can come together to watch a funny, less serious sporting event. Its a way to let other people experience volleyball in a fun non stressful way.
