Meridian has a series of great libraries and community centers across the Treasure Valley. Here close to Rocky Mountain is the Orchard Park Library. After opening in 2023, it has had great success, especially because this area has a lot of families, new buildings and neighborhoods. This library offers endless categories of books, and events for all ages.

It also has a unique and beautiful layout. You can find plenty of sitting areas with natural light and quiet places to study. Designed to meet the needs of all members, it creates a sensory space focused on sound, durability, and lighting to create inspiration for people of all ages. With free, fast Wi-Fi, this makes it a great place to get work done or study.

With this library in a central location, you can also find stores, gas stations, and restaurants nearby within walking distance.

Also including an interactive learning lab, adaptable for various programs supporting reading and STEM education for all ages. Teens in particular can benefit from these after-school learning opportunities.

Now that we know about what it has to offer for the visitors, what are some of the pros and cons of working here?

Lydia Chang, a librarian at Orchard Park, said, “One of my favorite parts of working here is just helping the community get what they need. The staff here is also awesome and super helpful.”

The library system also offers some non-book related things like laser engraving and 3D printing. Although the Orchard Park location doesn’t have a 3D printer, you can find one at the other libraries within the Meridian district.

What is one of the hardest parts of working here? “I would honestly say my “to-read” list gets exceptionally long sometimes because of all the great books here,” Chang replied.

With so many awesome things to offer its community, this is a wonderful place to visit.
