Imagine playing a varsity sport with your siblings. This is the case for Rocky soccer players Teagan and Tenlee Weigt. When they’re on the field, their teammates can advocate that not only are they good teammates, but they are exceptional siblings as well. This is shown in their dedication to play soccer together and showing up every day. They’ve played soccer together almost their whole lives. When they’re on the field, they help each other succeed in ways that are impossible to miss.

On the field their teammates would describe them as kind and funny. Ella Navaro, a sophomore on the varsity team explains how she appreciates that they are friends on and off the field. Navaro states, “I appreciate that I can be friends with both of them, and they don’t make it a big deal, because they are siblings and they play well together,” showing what great teammates Teagan and Tenlee Weigt truly are.
Jayden Ikebe, a freshman on the team said, “Since they’re siblings, they’ve done a lot of trainings in soccer together, and I think they have a special connection on the field.” This indicated the amount of training they’ve had to do together since they were young. They have also been through a lot of ups and downs together. Early on in the season Tenlee tore her ACL. It was devastating for everyone. Ikebe continued to say, “It definitely impacted our team. She was a very good athlete for only being a freshman, she could always keep going, even if she lost the ball and she always dominated in the middle. And for our club, we had to switch up a lot of things and make things work around her.”
Teagan Weigt is Tenlee Weigt’s older sister. Teagan Weigt pointed out how she and Tenlee Weigt play differently. She explained how Tenlee Weigt is faster at making plays and she’s better on the ball, but Teagan Weigt is better at passing the ball. She also said that she believes that their connection is better because of their relationship. Teagan Weigt commented, “At times I do feel like our sister connection makes it easier to know what she wants or what I want, but sometimes I have better connections just with certain people. Our dynamic was really good, sometimes, obviously we’re going to get in fights or like arguments, but I feel like beside that, we have a pretty good dynamic.” Teagan Weigt was also disappointed in finding out that Tenlee Weigt had torn her ACL. She outlined, “It sucked. I mean, I think every athlete’s fear is tearing their ACL, so just knowing that my sister did, and she was doing good this season, and knowing that, like it had to be postponed, and stuff really sucked for her.” This defines how well their connection is and their feelings towards each other, on how their emotions go out to one another and how well they play on the field.

Lastly, Tenlee Weigt is Teagan Weigt’s younger sister, and even though she may be younger she is an excellent team player. Her and her sister have an amazing connection. She commented, “Yes, I think I have a better connection sometimes, in some moments, I have a better connection with my sister and some teammates, but sometimes I’ll have a better connection with some other teammates, because of the positions we play.” Tenlee Weigt also explained her and her sister’s connection is, “easier, like a lot easier with communication and plays without having to talk.” This just shows how well their able to play together because of all the previous training that they have done together.
Tenlee Weigt early in the season had torn her ACL, she explained how it all happened out of nowhere and all that she could recall was that everything in her knee had exploded. She stated, “It was definitely a big change for me because I pretty much lived soccer, every day after school. I would go to soccer and even before school, I would go train. But without it, I’m pretty much like free all the time, I don’t have anything to really do during the day anymore.” Also, because it all happened so fast the adrenaline made it seem like nothing bad had happened to her knee all in all. Even though that all happened to her she defined that it really didn’t change her mentality at all and explained, “ I still have the same goals and dreams, and honestly, as like a person it definitely made my mentality better, and I’ve been like, stronger, and like wanting it back more and more, so it’s better in a way.”
All in all, this shows how great the Rocky Soccer team is with these two individuals. It also highlights their amazing teammates, and how loved they are on the team. It also explains the support they have. Not only that, but also the connections that Teagan and Tenlee Weigt have built over all of the years of training together throughout their sisterhood.

I really like how the sibling connection was focused on, showing that they were close both on and off the field.

I love how the author was able to get quotes from the people around her to help show the readers the impact that the girls made on the team.

I think you did a great job explaining how they help each other on the field and being friends on and off the field as well. It’s cool how they interact with everyone.

I like how you talked about their connections outside of soccer and how their connections affect how they play.
