Video games have been capturing our attention since the ‘80s, and they continue to with this new game coming soon. Marathon, releasing in March by Bungie inc., responsible for video game titles like Halo and Destiny, is releasing this new continuation of their first Marathon trilogy first released in 1994.
In late April of 2025, people were able to sign up to test play the game, called a “closed alpha”, with a release date set in September of the same year. However, it was delayed and canceled after player feedback. But now it has resurfaced and improved.
Marathon is going to be an extraction game, where the main goal is to complete objectives for rewards. It takes place in a sci-fi environment in the 29th century, with danger around every conner. The story is that colonists from the ship UESC Marathon have settled on the planet Tau Ceti IV, and something has caused them to start disappearing.
Marathon will be releasing on March 5 for $40 on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series S|X.
