When the New England Patriots are mentioned, most people think of legends like Tom Brady, Julian Edelman, Rob Gronkowski, Bill Belichick, and many others who have etched their name in history. Since 2001, the Patriots have had tremendous success such as 9 Super Bowl appearances, winning 6 of them, 17 AFC East titles, and 9 AFC Championship wins. From 2001–2020, the Patriots missed the playoffs just two times. (Championship Stats Provided by DAZN.com)
Then things started to fall apart after 2020. The undisputed GOAT of football, Tom Brady, packed his bags and headed south to Tampa Bay and left the Patriots in shambles. They missed the playoffs the next season, going 7–9, while Brady led the Buccaneers to a Super Bowl title in his first season. Then the next 4 seasons are as follows: 10–7 Wild Card loss, 8–9 missed playoffs, 4–13 missed playoffs, 4–13 missed playoffs. (Statistics Courtesy of NFL.com)
During this time, Bill Belichick was released as head coach, shocking many. Jarod Mayo was hired for the 2024 season, but after winning his first game, things went downhill fast and he was fired after the season concluded, (Said AP News). The Patriots weren’t sure where to turn; they had never been in a position like this before. It was clear they needed a full rebuild, but first they needed a head coach to lead it all.
They hired former Patriots linebacker Mike Vrabel as Head Coach (First Reported by Adam Schefter of ESPN). The roster was looking decent, but it showed tremendous promise, and recent draft picks in Drake Maye, Chrisitan Gonzalez, Treveyon Henderson, and Will Campbell seemed to give the young team maybe the boost it needed. A veteran signing bringing in Stefon Diggs gave them valuable leadership, and it was time to show the rest of the league who they were and what they stood for.
Through the first 3 games, things looked the same as they had as of recent. They started 1–2, and the offense was not clicking much. But then the culture Mike Vrabel had put in place sparked a fire in the locker room. What happened next is nothing short of legendary. The Patriots won 10 straight games, improving to 11–2. QB Drake Maye emerged as the MVP favorite in his 2nd year. (Odds Courtesy of Draft Kings, Week 13 NFL MVP Drake Maye-135 To Win)
They had arguably the best team in the league, and they had control of the AFC East, which they haven’t won in 5 years. Most importantly, they had consistency and greatness once again, and they were for real. The Patriots still have a long way to go, but in what was supposed to be a rebuild year for a young team has blossomed into a Super Bowl contending team. The Patriots are back, and that stands true regardless of what happens in the rest of the season.
After a tough loss at home on Sunday, 35–31 against the Bills, snapping a 10-game winning streak, the Patriots look to bounce back on Sunday Night Football 12/21 in Baltimore to take on the Ravens. The New England Patriots have put the league on notice, and with the young team they have, is the dynasty back?

The tension in this article is real, each and every line has something to say and keeps the audience engaged. It played out like one of those games where the energy in the stadium almost becomes its own thing. From the opening kickoff, both teams came out strong, and you could feel the tension with every play.

This is such a fantastic story. I have no idea why it is not trending on the website yet. Between the electric photo of Drake “Drake Maye” Maye going through pre-snap adjustments and the incredible writing style, this is one of the better stories I have read in my four years of following this newspaper. If I was the president of the United States, I would enact an Executive Order that forces every American man, woman, and child to read this story. It would be the most read story in the history of journalism. Even Taylor Porter would read this story, although he has distanced himself from the website in recent years. I hope that the lack clicks on this story will not discourage you from continuing to write. Keep working hard, and you will eventually burst into the mainstream of sports journalism. Thank you for changing my life. Thank you for being the 2nd best sports writer that this school has ever seen. Thank you. Sincerely, Ryan.

I really liked how the writer of this article was able to find such great statistics to really improve the writing. It made it way easier to understand how the Patriots have been able to make a comeback to continue their dynasty.

The way Jack “Jack Davis” Davis writes this story is so tough

The way Davis covers the fledgling Patriots dynasty is almost graceful, yet he also finds a way to deliver some of the most memorable insights in the world of sports journalism. If I hadn’t gambled all my money on Drake “Drake Maye” Maye, I would surely bet on the success of Davis throughout the rest of his writing career. A young, promising talent who has already shown flashes of talent. I think he will be in this industry for a long, long time and find lots of success. This is the type of writer who can rewrite the history book, and he does so along with Drake “Drake Maye” Maye.

Once again, the kid has shown up in the biggest moments. After going the entire semester without publishing a story, Davis comes back with a bang. The seamless way that this story talks about Drake “Drake Maye” Maye is inspiring. I may become a Patriots fan just from reading about the continuation of the dynasty.
