Rocky Mountain’s theater students just reached a 13-year winning streak, an accomplishment that showcases the program’s superiority and the commitment of every student and teacher involved. Evidently, they put in more and more work each year, constantly raising the bar for themselves and for the productions they put on.
Katrina Kohler, a senior and a part of the theater department, spoke on her experience throughout all four years of high school and how this streak was achieved. “Rocky’s 13-year winning streak comes from the hard work and dedication put in. In the hours of rehearsal, we are building pieces of art as well as strong connections as a department. It is something I’m going to miss,” she said.
Rehearsals can last late into the evening, and the cast and crew often spend hours fine-tuning scenes, practicing choreography, or working backstage on sets, props, and lighting cues. The environment is a supportive, challenging, and creative one, qualities that have helped the program remain so successful for over a decade.
The department’s shows have become a point of pride for the entire school community and audiences continue to praise the students’ talent and dedication. For seniors like Kohler, the success is meaningful not just because of the awards but because of the memories created along the way.
With this milestone now reached, Rocky Mountain’s theater department looks ahead with excitement, hoping to continue the legacy that many students have worked hard to build.
