Vroom, as the weather starts to change many things are affected, and one of those things is driving. Hailey Prandini (Sophomore) said, “The colder weather definitely affects the time I get to school because of me having to defrost my car”. Not only does it affect the way they drive but the time they get to school too. When asked Prandini if she struggles to drive in the winter, Prandini said, “I definitely struggle to drive in the winter because ethe roads are icier and my car kind of slides”.
The streets in the winter can be very dangerous for students when driving, especially in the morning. When Annie Loveland (Sophomore) was asked what struggle there is when driving in the morning, Loveland said, “In the morning sometimes that are really bad accidents, and the roads are really backed up, then I’m late to school”.
What’s in student’s cars? When questioned about what they keep in their cars, Loveland and Prandini said, “I like to keep a jacket, blanket and gloves”. Prandini said, “I usually have like four blankets in my car because I take my friends places and then they have blankets”.
As we talked about the weather conditions and how they have affected students driving, some people might not know about the things you actually need for your car in the winter. What asking Bria Martinez teacher at rocky mountain she said, “for your car you want to have defrosting fluid in your windshield wipers and a ice scrapers chains and anything you may need in the winter summer and all year long”. Even though students may not talk about these things they need for their car they are important.
