Rocky Cheer team at Rumble in the jungle

A couple weeks ago, Rocky Mountain Cheer team competed in a really big competition and WON!  Teams from most schools gathered in an arena filled with 1000 people. Banners and posters of teams decorated the arena. Each one represented the hard work and dedication of the cheerleaders. The Grizzly Cheer Squad, known for their high-energy routines, had been practicing for weeks trying to perfect every stunt and cheer. The competition was fun and entertaining. Each team is hardworking and have upbeat routines. Rocky Mountain High was determined to win gold.  The announcers called their name, they went on the floor. The crowd cheered and the arena shook with excitement. The routine began with lively dances and each cheerleader doing their moves with confidence. The stunts were next, and the team didn’t achieve their original goal going into the competition. There were a few mess-ups but nothing they couldn’t save. Flyers went up, stuck their stunts, and got caught while the crowd cheered. The cheer portion of the routine was where Rocky High truly has the most fun. Makenna Zimmer said, “It was fun and a good learning opportunity.” It was clear the team practiced and memorized each section of their parts, making their routine close to flawless. The routine ended with a lovely pyramid; the team stood there proud as the music came to an end.  They finished, the crowd applauded, and the team knew they did good. The judges took their time talking, but when the scores were finally announced, Rocky High was the top spot. The team celebrated with hugs and cheers.  The Rocky Mountain Cheer team at “Rumble in the Jungle” was a good representation to the dedication and passion of these cheer leaders. It was a day of fun and excitement day and for Rocky cheer team.
