Most know artificial intelligence as AI. Although known for its incredible knowledge and advancements, there are also disadvantages and worries. Is AI bound for the good or the bad?
A commonly used platform is popularly known as ChatGPT. OpenAI launched a long-form question-answering AI known as ChatGPT that responds to intricate inquiries in a conversational manner. This technology is groundbreaking because it is designed to understand the intent behind human queries. Although this can be helpful in many ways, a common issue with this is students cheating on assignments in school. Also, the possibility of misinformation. Of course, there are also AI platforms that help detect this issue, but it shouldn’t be an extra hassle: right?
In addition to this, the text states, “An AI-powered robot assembling those cars in the factory, that probably is taking the place of a human.” Forbes. Job unemployment is a common argument when it comes to AI. Artificial intelligence has been striking jobs from people in many different industries. Such as customer service, retail checkout, data entry, assembly line, translation, financial analysis, graphic design, context writing, and many more.
Aside from unemployment, employment is also a leading issue when it comes to artificial intelligence. We can all admit that we have used AI as a little cheat code in some way at some point. Although known for its incredible knowledge and speed: is it good? Anyone could use AI to generate a resume for a job they are applying for. They could also use this artificial intelligence during their schooling to, “get ahead of the game.” But really, they aren’t benefiting from their AI generated assignments and answers. When the time comes, and they are put into action with their new job. Can we trust someone with little knowledge and a fake resume to potentially prescribe you with medication?
Furthermore, AI lacks creativity. Artificial intelligence makes its choices based on historical data. Therefore, it inherently lacks the capability to generate fresh or creative perspectives on challenges or circumstances.
Overall, I believe there are slight benefits towards AI. Although, there are major disadvantages as well as some concerning things for our future. The question is: would we benefit from removing artificial intelligence?

I likes how it says that AI is good for a lot of things, like doing a job, or making something. But AI can also be used for a lot of bad things. Like AI stealing a persons job and doing bad with it.

i think that AI is a very bad sign of school and it should be changed it is currently lowering intelligence of the students going to school because they like to use them during a essay or test i think ai is not a good thing i think a person should use their own brains.

I believe that AI has come with both good and bad. While it removes creativity it can also help with research and many other things. Great job sharing your thoughts including both perspectives. The real question is will AI take over the world.

This paper is well-written and makes good points about the negative impact AI has. It is very informative and I agree that it lacks creativity.

It’s a great article and the points presented are very well thought out and explained. But saying that AI has major disadvantages is a bit harsh, it definitely holds the key to the future; via quantum computing, the ability to think and respond with well accuracy, and just having a different set of skills compared to us. It’s a chance, for a better future, and like most things it comes at a cost, whether it be Jobs, money, power, etc… So, asking if our future would be better without it is unreasonable, the real question is: “is the cost worth it”, because I don’t think that ANYONE is going to miss working in customer service. Anyways great article.

I agree that AI has some of its upsides, but lacks creativity that our brains have. It is very true that it can be useful but isn’t always the solutions when confusion comes up

I like how it was specified that AI, is useful when come to smaller less important papers but that we really can’t trust someone who went through their schooling using AI to do a job relating to medicine.

very informative, got to the point very quickly, and showed several reasons. I find the fake resume part especially concerning.

I liked the directness of this paper, and that it gave you the points straightforward. I do think that AI is an enormous problem and I’m glad that you have brought attention to it, in such an insightful way as well.

I think this is a very interesting take for AI. I thought that this author did a good job of exploring both sides of AI. I also agree that AI will damage creativity and also that it will lead to job loss.
