There was a Grizz walk at Rocky Mountain high school on Friday Sep 6, 2024. A Grizz walk is when the varsity athletes walk through the school and the other students watch and support them before a big event or game that day. Grizz walks, if they liked them and if they did not. I wanted to see if this activity/event should happen again
First, I interviewed a sophomore, a Rocky Mountain high school student, David Foremaster a football varsity athlete. He said, “It was actually really cool, it was cool going through the hallway and seeing all the school was watching us”. This shows that he liked it, and he liked the support before his big game. Next, I interviewed a sophomore, a Rocky Mountain high school student, Caiden Kennedy, non-varsity athlete, he said, “It was really good, the whole environment was just electric, and it was a great experience for the whole school”. Students and athletes both liked this activity/event at Rocky Mountain high school so it seems like we should have more every year. Lastly, I interviewed a Rocky Mountain high school student, Justin Hall, a football Varsity athlete. He said, “I thought it was awkward, nobody looked like they were having fun”. He was one of the athletes walking through the hall, seeing all of the different people on the sides of the hall and being able to see everybody’s looks and expressions and he said he did not like it because nobody seemed to be enjoying the event and to Justin it seemed as though nobody liked it to him.
Overall, from the information I got, it seemed like it was mostly fun, and some kids were not having fun but overall, the Grizz walk should happen again and it seemed like it was very fun and helped hype up the athletes for their big game from what I have heard and seen. This event should happen again but not be mandatory just like it wasn’t this time.
