In September, one volleyball player stood out above the rest, not just for her skill, but for her leadership, determination, and dedication to the team. From the very first game of the season, Isabella Moses, number 17 on Rocky’s Sophomore Volleyball team, showed what it means to give her all, diving for saves, setting up teammates, and celebrating every point with energy and passion.
Isabella has built lasting friendships with her teammates, coaches, and even competitions. She exemplifies what it truly means to be a good player and an exceptional teammate. She brings talent, effort, and consistency to every game, but she also lifts others up, communicates with purpose, and puts the teams’ goals above individual recognition. Her communication and leadership on the court helped her earn the recognition, along with the amount of effort she puts in every day.
Her consistent focus on practice and drive to improving each day has made a huge impact on the team’s success. She brings a positive attitude that motivates everyone around her and sets an example of what hard work looks like on and off the court. Her coaches and teammates describe her as reliable, driven, and always willing to push herself and others to do better.
What makes her achievements even more impressive is the way she balances the demands of school and volleyball with grace and determination. Isabella says she balances school and volleyball as a student-athlete by finishing her work in class, and any homework that she has, she makes sure to do it right after practice if she couldn’t before then. Despite a packed schedule, she maintains strong academic performance while never missing a beat on the court. Her ability to manage her time, stay focused, and give her best in both areas is a testament to her maturity and work ethic.
She can motivate herself the most to get better because she wants to be the very best that she can be by putting in the work and having the mindset. Being named Player of the Month is a well-deserved recognition of the hours she puts into perfecting her game and supporting her team. Isabella says “This reward means that my coaches can see the work I’m putting in, and they can see that I’m working hard and trying to get better every day. It also means a lot to me especially since I was the first one to get chosen and this led me into being voted as team captain.” She continues to show that success comes from teamwork, discipline, and heart, qualities that make her not only an amazing athlete but also an inspiring teammate and leader. “I’d like to thank all the coaches in the program” she says, “especially Coach Stacia for believing in me and helping me to push myself to be and do my very best, and for always being there and supporting me.”
