The Rocky Mountain gymnasium was the place to be for the first assembly of the school year. Everyone represented Grizzly pride throughout the entire gym on September 19th, 2025, with about 1,911 students! Numerous amounts of activities were involved such as games, the finalists of each grade for homecoming royalty, and tributes for the fall sports.
Around the beginning of second period B-day, the halls filled with loud and proud music, along with every varsity player for soccer, cross country, cheer, football, swim, golf, rugby, and volleyball. They marched through the halls, on their way to the gymnasium, as students and teachers cheered for their fall sports. After the Griz walk, first-year students and juniors were seated on the right side of the gym (the top and bottom level) and the sophomores and seniors sat on the left side of the gym.
Shortly after, the top 3 couples for each grade for homecoming prepared to walk the red carpet in the middle of the setting. Allie Chandler, the winner, and nominee for freshmen princess explained, “It was kind of scary but exciting at the same time!”. One by one each pair was announced as they walked down, side by side.
Then, the varsity cheerleaders and football players were challenged to participate in a game like “Lovers Leap” where someone calls out a pose or physical sequence that you must do in a matter of seconds so that you don’t get eliminated. Alexa Baird, varsity cheerleader said, “I loved watching Natalie Bishop play the game and it was funny.” The players sprinted back and forth, executed group participation, and followed themed sequences. In the end, there was one winner from the varsity football team.
The next game started with volunteers from students, 4 from each grade and was titled “Musical Towels.” Like the well-known game “Musical Chairs,” the players must walk, circling around towels that are laying on the ground with some missing, while music is playing. When the music stops, you must land on a towel before someone else steals it and so you can stay in the game. The remaining players that are left standing without a towel are eliminated and the game continues as another towel is removed. This game was played for a while but was intense. Who would win? The winner turned out to be a junior who at the end, got celebrated by his friends.
After all the excitement from the games, it was time for the assembly to come to an end. Student council said a couple of words, and everyone started to head back to class. Many shared moments with each other, teachers rounded up their students for class, and everything went back to normal. The assembly ended close to the middle of second period.
