In a thrilling and hard-fought volleyball game against Capital High School, the Grizzly girls emerged victorious with a final score of 25-16.
Despite falling behind early in the match, the team never lost their focus or determination, keeping the score close throughout the entirety of the game. They never backed down on getting that lead, with the score narrowing to 12–14 and 14–16 by mid to late game. The girls from Capital High School proved to be worthy opponents, as the victory was not easily won. They have obviously put in hard work and effort to get here and are lucky to have such a skilled team this school year.
With that said, the JV team showed resilience and teamwork, consistently celebrating victories and cheering each other on from start to finish. Their focus and unity proved to be the key in overcoming their early drawback and gaining a steady lead that pushed them to victory.
Teamwork in volleyball proves to be extremely important and a vital part of achieving that win everyone is striving for. Houston Force Volleyball reports, “When each player knows they have their teammates’ backs, they’re more likely to give their best effort, knowing that the team is stronger together.” The Grizzly girls proved that they know how to effectively communicate and clearly gave their best on that court. Anyone could see that they have each other’s backs through every failure and success.
Natalie Rinaldi, a high school junior on the team, said, “I feel like a quality that sets our team apart from others is that we can rely on each other and solve problems easily.”
The fans and parents in attendance were shown a lovely display of spirit, perseverance, and skill. The game was a true highlight of the hard work both of these teams have put in to bettering their sport and with this win, the Grizzly girls continue to build momentum for the season ahead.
