The theatre department of Rocky Mountain sits in silence, at the edge of their seat with bated breath, as they wait to see what the results of “The Patty Duke” awards is. Outstanding Performance in a Lead Role: Reyna Shipley, Outstanding Student Set Design: Kathryn Reynolds, Outstanding Student Lighting Design: Arya Vineyard, Outstanding Student Stage Manager: Kathryn Reynolds, Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble: Addams Family Ensemble. The theatre erupts in cheers. Two students from Rocky made it to the top eight finalists. Reyna Shipley and Tommy Milton.Reyna Shipley says “I feel like I’m going ballistic. I don’t believe it.” She says “I started musical theatre last year, but this is my first year making it to finalists. Everyone at rocky is so nice, and so sweet. We’re all so supportive of each other, and it’s a really, really fun cast, I loved it more than anything.”
Tommy Milton says “I can’t believe I finally made it to finals. The stage cast here at rocky is truly wonderful, it really feels like we’re a family. They’re all so supportive. It really feels like my work has paid off, and theatre is what I’ve always loved to do.”
