Aspen Rocks’ best advice for others going to college is: “Just apply to as many colleges as you can, don’t be afraid to look at other colleges and don’t just chose one. Just to give yourself as many options as you can have.” They also say, “I think college is beneficial just to get a higher education, and it really beneficial to discover yourself and your interests.” Both sources wish to attend Boisie State University (BSU) to get a master’s degree in art and have art-based careers in their future.
Andrea Disney says “I want to be an art teacher of some sort. I think it would be fulfilling if I became an art professor.” And Aspen Rocks says, “I plan for me to have a very online based career, I plan on making art and selling it on Etsy.” When asked about their plans for their degree in art Aspen says “I hope to learn more about art, because there’s still a lot I can learn. I like to say I’m intermediate at best. I haven’t gotten the chance to learn, and being able to have that knowledge would be better.” When asked further about their plans for their future Aspin says, “I also plan on taking other classes like film and editing for content creation, because I also plan on doing that as well.” They continue by saying “And I hope that I can do commission art as well and knowing proper art techniques and how to use certain mediums the proper way.”
When asked on her thoughts on whether the students of Rocky would benefit from attending college or whether it would be easier for them Andrea Disney says, “The school here has dual credits, right? And so, it makes you want to be able to have less college.”
The sources were asked their thoughts on Rocky Mountain High School and they both reported fond memories and an overall great part of their lives, Andrea Disney says, “I have a lot of good experiences here, Teachers are great, and I’m going to miss my friends.” And Aspin Rocks says, “I’m going to miss being able to walk to school, not so much right now because its freezing, I’m going to miss some of the teachers here that are really nice, and I’m going to miss my friends too. I have a lot of friends here that are younger than me and I would like to stay in contact with them.”
