Rocky Moutain School parking lot

Rockys Parking lot is a problem. accidents happen on a daily bias. Many students must sprint to their car for them to get out fast enough. Some students say the parking lot gets very competitive and crowded.

Every student trying to push their car through and not let anyone else in. Most students blame most of the bad traffic on the back gate being closed. This person wants to remain anonymous they said, “If the back gate was open then it would be way more efficient.”  The school administration says that is costs to many accidents but when they do open it is way more efficient. Another problem is nobody has ever explained the rules of the parking lot and every day it is just a big pile up of cars just trying to escape the parking lot. Senior Hallie Shrum said, “the parking lot would be way more efficient if there was more than one intersection because with the gate closed there is only one way to get out.” And when the back is open, we have two now. Some students even drive over the sidewalk because the gate is closed. If we kept the gate open, we would prevent that from happening. Junior Elsa Johnson said, “The fastest way to get to your car is if you run to your car and if you don’t it will take forever to get out.” This is one of the best ways to get out because if you don’t you will get stuck in the intersection and the huge traffic jam.

Many Rocky drivers have been in accidents. Half the time neither one knows whose fault it is. Luckily the parking lot is crowded so you can’t go too fast. This is good because nobody can get injured. But the problem with it being so crowded is that people don’t want to lose their spot in line. Kids spend a lot of time at school so when it’s over they want to get home. That is why they need to change something in the parking lot. Because if they don’t then there is started to be a more serious problem. Kids will continue to push their way through and hit their cars.

As you can see the parking lot is a real problem and something needs to be done. Whether it opening the gate learning the rules or just the kids being better in general. If we all work together, we can make the parking lot way more efficient.
