Flash, Twinkle, Bam, As the Christmas season rolls around people in Idaho start to think about the meridian light parade. The parade where tons of people and businesses gather around on the first of December to celebrate Christmas together. The Meridian light parade has been occurring since December of 2012. It is a great way for big or small businesses to advertise their business. lots of the little businesses in Idaho started to have a lot more business due to the meridian light parade. Kids are not the only ones who enjoy most adults do too.
Rocky mountain key club and NAHS students volunteered at the 2023 light parade. They got to not only help our community, but they got to experience the great parade with at the lights and music and let’s not forget Santa.
Haley Hekking grade 12 said,” it was a great experience to get to go to the parade and get community service hours it was super fun and up lifting.”
This shows that students love the parade and all it has to offer. Hannah Hekking decided to immerse herself in the Christmas spirit to help make sure that the parade ran smoothly.
Hannah Hekking grade 10 said, “it was super fun to get to be there with my sister and friend to help make sure the kids did not get hurt at such a fun event.”
Hannah Hekking took he time on a Friday night to make sure that kids that went to have fun with family and friends did not get hurt and make sure everyone stays safe.
The Meridian light parade has become a big tradition for Idaho during Christmas time. There are so many families that go every year, and it has become a big part of the families traditions. Hopefully continues for more years to come.
